Villa IN Musica – Jazz and classical music at Trenzanesio villa

25th June 2025 – Fondazione Invernizzi presents its summer music festival

On 25th, 26th and 27th June 2025 Tenuta di Trenzanesio opened its gates to the public for the first time ever to host Villa IN Musica, an immersive experience that brings voice and life back to the villa and its landscape through concerts that resonate among the gardens, trees, animals and architecture of this evocative place.

Three concerts were held in collaboration with important musical institutions of Milan: Musica nell’Aria, Blue Note Milano and Le Dimore del Quartetto, which attracted a wide and varied audience.

The events

WE.ENSEMBLE – Wednesday 25th June at 7.30 p.m.

The festival opened with a concert by invitation only for the friends of the Foundation, collaborators, university representatives and students receiving Invernizzi scholarships. It was organised in collaboration with Musica nell’Aria, a Milan association that aims at sharing and fostering music in its deepest essence to an increasingly wide and diverse audience in non-canonical contexts. The guest of the soirée was the We.Ensemble string quartet, playing for ten years and specializing in pop arrangements for classical instruments, which has found a niche in pop music and entertainment. On that occasion, they played film soundtracks by some of the most important composers, from Rota to Morricone, through Zimmer and Piovani.

CARMEN SOUZA – Thursday 26th June at 8 p.m.

The second soirée, open to the public, was organised in collaboration with Blue Note, a jazz club opened in 2003 in Milan, which is part of the network that includes the historic New York venue, considered as one of the most important and famous showcases for jazz music in Europe. Carmen Souza, one of the most interesting voices of the new generation of so-called world music, was the guest. Born in Lisbon to a Cape Verdean family of Christian origin, her music blends several musical genres: from morna to batuke, jazz, soul and beyond. Carmen draws on the strength of her roots to discover ever new frontiers. Her singing style is a highly personal take on the verve of Billie Holiday, Nina Simone and Cesária Évora, combining unusual melodies, exotic moods, African influences and scat jazz with controlled vibrato and unpredictable phrasing.

AVENTURIN QUARTETT – Friday 27th June at 8 p.m.

On Friday the last concert of the series was held, in collaboration with Le Dimore del Quartetto, a creative cultural enterprise founded in 2015 to promote chamber music and the European cultural heritage. The guest of the soirée was the Aventurin string quartet, founded in 2022 at Bern University of the Arts, a young ensemble that stands out for its balance between interpretative depth and artistic research and proposes creative programmes ranging from classical repertoire to contemporary music. The ensemble, which performed after President Francesca Moncada’s remarks, presented a programme inspired by nature surrounding Tenuta di Trenzanesio, where music gives voice to the trees, flowers and birds that animate the garden. Sounds, trills and rustles of the wind turned into notes, in a dialogue between landscape and harmony. A sensory and poetic immersion in the atmosphere of the villa, amid naturalistic suggestions and delicate sound emotions.
