IN Arte. Art at Palazzo Invernizzi. When an encounter becomes a story
11th - 16th November 2025 – A week of views, stories and wonder at Palazzo Invernizzi

The first edition of IN Arte was held from 11th to 16th November. L’Arte (Art) at Palazzo Invernizzi is the new annual exhibition through which Fondazione Invernizzi opens its Palazzo to exhibitions, meetings and itineraries dedicated to art in its many forms. An event designed to bring the public closer to works of great value, raising awareness through direct and accessible experience.
The star of the exhibition was the Portrait of Nicolò Doria by Jacopo Robusti, known as Tintoretto, a masterpiece from 1545 exhibited for the first time after a long period in private collections.
An exceptional guest: the Portrait of Nicolò Doria
An imposing work – “the size of a basketball player”, as described by la Repubblica – portraying a young aristocrat posing solemnly, bathed in light that reveals the hand of a master still in his early days but already capable of intense psychological expression.
For the Foundation, hosting this painting – on public display for the first time after centuries of passing through noble and private collections – meant launching an exhibition aimed at turning Palazzo Invernizzi into a living space where art intertwines with the identity of the place and the spirit of its founders, Romeo and Enrica Invernizzi.
An initiative of a thousand faces
From its inauguration on 11th November to its public openings on 15th and 16th November, including private meetings throughout the week, Palazzo Invernizzi welcomed numerous groups of visitors: university students, associations, educational institutions and various cultural organisations, from the delegation of Opera Cardinal Ferrari to that of Oratorio di Corvetto, from students of Università Cattolica di Piacenza e Cremona and Bocconi University to volunteers and vulnerable people from Sacra Famiglia Onlus. This wide and varied range of visitors was consistent with the aim of the exhibition: make the work as accessible as possible, encouraging encounters with audiences of different backgrounds and sensibilities, with no distinctions.
Visits were organised in collaboration with Associazione Art-ù, which accompanied the groups on an educational tour focusing on the dialogue between the work, the space and the historical narrative.
The exhibition, between history and participation
Alongside Tintoretto exhibition, IN Arte presented “Un ospite a Palazzo” (A Guest at the Palace) catalogue, edited by Simone Ferrari and Alberto Cottino as part of BookCity Milano, and activities for the public: guided tours by reservation and a workshop for families dedicated to children.
Thus, a work steeped in five hundred years of history has found a new life through the many voices that have encountered it in recent days. The face of Nicolò Doria – “immersed in a metaphysical shadow”, writes La Repubblica – has become a mirror in which different generations have been able to recognise a detail, an emotion, a question.
A long-sighted project
At the end of this first edition, the Foundation has renewed its commitment to making IN Arte an annual event: a place not only for exhibition, but also for participation, education and shared curiosity.
Because when art meets people, it becomes storytelling. And during these days, at Palazzo Invernizzi, those stories have taken shape.
