18th June 2026 – From Research to Real-World Impact

A mosaic of memories: the people, stories and achievements of a decade
During the evening, guests looked back on the Laboratory’s first decade through a large interactive display—a true “wall of memories.” Participants were invited to add sticky notes, historical photographs, anecdotes and reflections relating to the journey they had shared. The display offered a visual account not only of the team’s growth and its fieldwork across 47 countries, but, above all, of the strong personal bonds underpinning its major scientific achievements. It brought institutions and researchers together in an atmosphere of genuine connection and shared purpose.
These personal connections reflect the breadth and excellence of LEAP’s work. The ten years celebrated at Palazzo Invernizzi tell the story of more than 60 research projects focusing on crucial areas such as education, health, agriculture, migration and the labour market. The effectiveness of this model is evident in two key areas. First, LEAP invests in the field-based training of the next generation of economists through structured programmes that provide access to prestigious organisations. Second, it develops strategic partnerships and formal agreements with key institutions—including the Italian Ministry of Education and Merit, INVALSI and the World Bank—to ensure that scientific evidence translates into tangible, real-world impact.
The evening concluded with the renewal of the partnership between Invernizzi Foundation and LEAP Bocconi, united by the belief that research and advanced education are the most effective tools for understanding inequality and delivering real, measurable improvements in people’s lives.
