30th april - 20th may 2026 – Lontananze Creative at Palazzo Invernizzi
To mark the 35th edition of Festival Milano Musica, which will be held from 26th April to 6th June 2026 under the title “Lontananze Creative” (Creative Distances), Fondazione Romeo ed Enrica Invernizzi has renewed its partnership with Milano Musica.
This initiative confirms the commitment made by the Foundation to become a well-established venue of cultural dialogue and research, open to innovation, to new generations of musicians and to contemporary music enthusiasts.
The Festival 2026 edition was presented at a press conference on 16th April in the foyer of Teatro alla Scala and was dedicated to two leading figures in the music scene of the 20th century: Morton Feldman and György Kurtág, both drawing inspiration from Samuel Beckett’s works. The programme includes 8 world premieres and 13 Italian premieres, exploring the theme of creative distance, understood as a constant drive towards discovery and experimentation, which combines interest in new cultures and technologies with the exploration of innovative musical languages.
Events at Palazzo Invernizzi
As part of the Festival programme, the partnership between Fondazione Invernizzi and Milano Musica will take the form of two events entitled “Creazione e interpretazione” (Creation and Interpretation), offering the public an opportunity to explore the theme of creative distance in greater depth, thanks to ongoing dialogue between a variety of perspectives and different musical interpretations.
Thursday 30th April, 7.00 pm Palazzo Invernizzi – En plein air musical dialogue between Stefano Gervasoni, Filippo Gorini and Lorenzo Gentili-Tedeschi
The first event presented the outcomes of pianist Filippo Gorini’s project Sonata for 7 Cities, in which the soloist’s usual travel routine turns into a journey of artistic exploration consisting of experiences, encounters and cultural exchanges, where music struggles to reach its destination. The project featured new pieces written by contemporary composers, including Stefano Gervasoni, who also composed a new work for violin and piano, performed by violinist Lorenzo Gentili-Tedeschi, in a dialogue that intertwines musical composition and performance.
Wednesday 20th May, 7.00 pm Palazzo Invernizzi – En plein air musical dialogue between Carmine Emanuele Cella, Michele Gamba, Minh-Tâm Nguyen, Matchume Zango and Cecilia Balestra
The second event, however, was dedicated to exploring the contemporary musical repertoire through a conversation between composer Carmine Emanuele Cella and conductor Michele Gamba who, together with percussionists Minh-Tâm Nguyen and Matchume Zango, explored the vision of an orchestra of the future. An open conversation between compositional philosophy and performance, in which technological experimentation and new artistic visions intertwined to redefine the contemporary orchestral language.
